Law is a dynamic and deeply responsible profession that demands a thorough understanding of, and sensitivity towards, social causes and civic responsibilities. In alignment with these values, the National Service Scheme (NSS) stands as one of the flagship programmes of the Government of India, dedicated to fostering a spirit of social responsibility among students and youth across the country.
The NSS was established on the foundational belief that students must not confine themselves to intellectual pursuits alone, but must also prepare themselves for selfless service to those who form the backbone of the nation through their labour, goods, and services. It is this spirit that is encapsulated in the NSS motto, "Not Me, But You" which reflects the essence of democratic living and underscores the importance of service above self.
In pursuance of these noble objectives, the Government of India formally launched the NSS on 24th September 1969. In alignment with these national goals and values, the NSS unit has been established at Asian Law College, reaffirming the institution's commitment to producing not only competent legal professionals but also responsible and public-spirited citizens.
